Write for us
Eastern City Briefing welcomes pitches from writers with a clear question about eastern city life, local history, urban forms or shared spaces. We are interested in concise, well-supported ideas that help readers understand a place rather than simply list what to see.
What makes a good pitch
Send a short outline of the central idea, why it matters to a general reader and the evidence or sources you expect to use. Name the city or places involved and explain what gives the piece a distinct angle. We welcome reported explanations and thoughtful essays; we do not need a finished draft to consider an idea.
A careful approach
Strong proposals make room for context, avoid unsupported claims and treat local communities with care. Please disclose relevant commercial interests and identify any material that has already appeared elsewhere. A proposal is not a commission, and we will discuss scope and terms before work begins.
Where to send it
Send your proposal through the Contact page and select the editorial question option. Include a concise summary and any relevant links in your message; do not send confidential or sensitive material.
A city is more than its skyline
Its character lives in the routes people take, the places they meet and the histories that remain in plain sight. We look closely at those details.
